02What is the PTE exam fee? →
The PTE Academic test fee in Australia is generally around AUD $445, including taxes. Pricing may vary slightly depending on the test location and booking date. It is always recommended to check the latest fees directly through the official Pearson PTE website before confirming your exam booking.
03How is the PTE test structured? →
The PTE Academic exam is fully computer-based and includes three sections: Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening. The test evaluates everyday and academic English skills through different question types. The complete exam usually takes around two hours and provides results quickly, often within 48 hours.
04What score is required in Australia? →
The required PTE score depends on your goals, such as university admission, student visas, skilled migration, or professional registration. Most Australian universities accept scores between 50–65, while migration pathways may require higher results. Joining a professional PTE course in Tasmania can help students target specific score requirements effectively.

06How is PTE different from IELTS? →
PTE Academic is entirely computer-based and uses AI technology for scoring, while IELTS includes a face-to-face speaking interview with an examiner. 07Can I take the PTE exam online from home? →

Why should you take the PTE after moving to Tasmania?
The PTE is the test the government and employers use to see how well you can speak English. You will probably need to take this test to get a visa, and then to live and work in Australia. You might also need to take it to get jobs that require speaking and listening skills, such as nursing or customer service roles.
What does the PTE test cover? It measures four different skills:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
Many questions will test two skills at a time. One question might test both reading and listening skills. Another might measure reading and speaking skills at the same time. The PTE exam will take three hours. It must be taken in an official test centre. It will be taken on a computer, so you will need to know how to use a computer. If you don’t know how, don’t worry, we can teach you.
